Multiplayer 8 gives you five 99 OVR cards to chase in MLB The Show 26. If you're tracking MLB The Show 26 Stubs too, there's more here than player rewards.
Know which cards you're playing for
The reward path stretches to 150,000 XP, but you don't need to finish it to get useful players. Pop Lloyd arrives at 10,000 XP, giving you a 99 OVR shortstop early. Peanut Johnson follows at 35,000 XP if your rotation needs another option. Then it's Fred McGriff at 60,000 XP for first base and Rollie Fingers at 85,000 XP for the bullpen. Bernie Williams takes longer: his 99 OVR Milestone center field card sits at 120,000 XP. That's the player checkpoint to keep in mind before committing to the whole track. There's plenty between those cards, too. You get a Show Pack at 5,000 XP, five more at 15,000 XP, a Headliners Pack at 20,000 XP, and 1,500 Stubs at 25,000 XP. The Deluxe Choice Pack comes at 30,000 XP, followed by a JUMBO Show Pack at 40,000 XP. A Premier Choice Pack waits at 80,000 XP. Nice extras, sure, but I'd choose a player target first rather than keep playing just because another pack is close.
| Program XP | Reward | Target |
|---|---|---|
| 85,000 | Rollie Fingers | Bullpen help |
| 120,000 | Bernie Williams | Center field |
| 140,000 | Ranked Ws Rewind | Choice reward |
| 150,000 | 50 The Show Packs | Full completion |
Make each session count
Those later checkpoints take more games. Before jumping into another queue, check your unfinished missions so your next session moves more than one objective forward.
Start with the one-time missions
1. Check Hits, Strikeouts, Home Runs, and Variety objectives before choosing your mode.
2. Work on Battle Royale missions when you're already playing BR.
Keep progress moving afterward
1. Use overlapping Events or Weekend Classic objectives whenever they fit your plans.
2. Keep earning multiplayer Parallel XP after the easier missions are done.
Pick your stopping point
Ranked, Ranked Co-Op, Battle Royale, Events, and Weekend Classic all contribute, so there's no need to force yourself into a mode you don't enjoy. The repeatable objective awards 5,000 Program XP for every 15,000 multiplayer Parallel XP. That's a steady route forward once your one-time objectives run out, though it still takes actual games. Don't mistake Parallel XP for Program XP; they're separate totals. If Bernie is your goal, reaching 120,000 XP gets the job done. The remaining 30,000 XP is about extra rewards, not another featured player. And if you're browsing MLB The Show 26 Stubs for sale while planning your roster, keep that separate from this progression path. These cards come from program milestones. Get the reward you want, then decide whether those remaining packs are worth another evening.
