U4gm Arc Raiders Grappling Routes to Contested Areas

Get more from ARC Raiders' Grappling Hook with smarter routes, better firing angles, and shorter crossings-just make sure your landing has cover and a way out before you launch.

The Grappling Hook in ARC Raiders is most useful when it improves your next position, not simply when it carries you away from trouble. Whether you are looking through ARC Raiders BluePrints or preparing your next loadout, give movement equipment the same attention as weapons: its value depends on where it lets you fight.

Choose the Landing Before the Launch

Elevation can reveal approaches and open firing angles, but height alone does not make a position strong. Before committing, identify cover at the destination, check nearby sightlines, and decide how you will leave if another squad pressures that spot.

A raised position overlooking a contested entrance may let you watch opponents moving between cover. Landing on an exposed roof, however, can leave your silhouette visible from several directions. Prefer a destination where you can observe briefly, then step out of sight.

Think beyond the arrival itself. A useful grapple should connect two playable positions. If the landing offers neither protection nor an onward route, you may only be exchanging one dangerous location for another.

Move Early to Shape the Fight

Using the tool before opponents notice your squad gives you more freedom to choose timing and direction. You can take an alternative approach, establish a second angle, or avoid entering a busy location through its most obvious access point.

For example, while teammates watch a passage from ground level, a player can reposition to an elevated side angle. The goal is not an isolated push. It is to make opponents account for two directions while keeping the squad close enough to support each other.

The same planning helps with exposed crossings. Rather than running the full length of an open stretch, look for a grapple route that reduces time in sight. Check both ends first; shortening the crossing means little if the destination is already watched.

Under Fire, Break Sightlines Rather Than Chase Distance

Once a fight turns against you, urgency makes poor destinations look attractive. Grappling farther away is not automatically safer. An opponent with a clear view may still track your movement, especially if you arrive somewhere with no immediate cover.

Look instead for a move that interrupts the enemy's angle. A change in elevation or a lateral reposition behind substantial cover can create time to reassess. Tell teammates where you are moving so they do not advance expecting support you can no longer provide.

After landing, pause long enough to read the situation. Locate your squad, check the next exit, and decide whether to rejoin, hold, or withdraw.

If you plan to buy ARC Raiders BluePrints, remember that equipment cannot choose your landing. Deliberate routes, protected arrivals, and coordinated movement make the Grappling Hook valuable beyond a last-second retreat.
